Distribution solutions consortium Jigsaw has opened a new operations centre at Bardon in Leicestershire. The facility, adjacent to J22 of the M1, coordinates the movements of a mixed fleet of up to 1,200 commercial vehicles and 2,000 trailers operating from 30 depots nationwide.
Jigsaw general manager – operations Harvey Douglas says the Bardon facility offers customers a management and administration resource for operational control of all their transport requirements, from load planning through to POD and pallet management and billing.
He adds: “The shared-user nature of the facility enables Jigsaw to provide its clients with more efficient deployment of IT, more effective staff cover over longer operating hours and reduced facility overheads.”
Jigsaw’s shareholders include Currie European Transport, F Swain and Sons and Macfarlane Transport.
